Transparency is a render policy.
The official blending example lays out the same image under No, Normal, Additive, Subtractive, and Multiply blending. This study keeps that material boundary visible with deterministic in-memory textures.

Material.blending selects the blend equation; `transparent` enables the transparent-material path, while opacity controls alpha. Depth sorting, premultiplied alpha, driver behavior, exact official image assets, exact page/pixel fidelity, and whole-example fidelity remain separate.
