THREE.JS / FOUNDATIONS 246

Make the glow a material property.

Core glTF emission is bounded; KHR_materials_emissive_strength raises the material's upper limit. Four loader-created PBR materials make the difference between emissive color, map, strength, and external lighting visible.

The extension multiplies the core emissive value; it does not replace emissiveFactor or emissiveTexture, and emission alone does not illuminate neighboring objects.

The study uses GLTFLoader's native KHR_materials_emissive_strength path and tracks every parsed material, map, geometry, environment, and renderer resource for release.

Derived from the official emissive bloom example, GLTFLoader, MeshStandardMaterial, and the Khronos KHR_materials_emissive_strength contract. Use ?forceWebGL=1 to inspect the labeled WebGL2 reference.
