A vertex has a passport.
Compare traversal-oriented OBJ with attribute-rich PLY and surface-only STL. Export deterministic geometry, reload it through the real loaders, and make world-space transforms, flattening, endianness, indexing, and format loss explicit.

OBJ preserves world-space vertices, UVs, normals, lines, and points but no material files; PLY preserves selected vertex attributes but no textures; STL preserves surface triangles as non-indexed geometry without scene or material metadata. This is a partial interchange contract; whole-example fidelity remains separate.
