Upload only the changed pixels.
A 4×4 DataTexture mutates on the CPU, queues component ranges, and lets the WebGL2 texture backend merge same-row work before upload. Readback proves selected pixels changed and the update queue cleared.

Contract: Texture.addUpdateRange() uses component units, merges overlapping/adjacent same-row ranges in the WebGL2 uploader, and clears the queue after upload. This is not BufferAttribute.addUpdateRange(), Lab331 texture copying, or a WebGPU fallback.
Texture update ranges are WebGL2-native here. The WebGPU route is classified as non-equivalent; no fallback is run.
Texture range initialization failed. The WebGL2 probe could not initialize.
The route follows the official Texture API and pinned WebGL texture uploader.
