THREE.JS / FOUNDATIONS 93

Teach a rig someone else’s moves.

A source character drives a target character through an explicit bone map. The target uses renamed bones and a different display scale so the retargeted clip is visible as a contract, not a copied animation.

Morph-target tracks are excluded from this skeleton-only retarget because the target mixer is bound directly to its skin.

load clip->read source skeleton->map names->retargetClip->play target

The target mixer receives a new clip whose tracks address the target skeleton’s mapped bone names.

Left: source clip. Right: mapped target clip. “Copy current pose” uses SkeletonUtils.retarget(); play mode uses retargetClip(). Add ?forceWebGL=1 for WebGL2.
